Gotta just keep on driving down that highway, speed
try to outrun my racing thoughts
before they get the best of me.

They're right at my heels clawing at my coat
trying to pull me down again
Slam my foot on the gas, try to shake 'em loose
before I'm back in that ditch
trying to dig up what's left of your promise.

Then I see his smile
and the road looks bright ahead
He's the sun beating down on the windshield
warming my soul to love again,
I've grown wings,

Should I let him take the wheel
and will he drive out the pain?

A Question Of WhenI take that lonely walk to the graveyard most nights now.
I think of you and try to abandon your ghost out there somehow
but you always follow me home.
I let the moon shine down on me through the gnarly old trees
and let the rays soak into my skin and cleanse all my sorrows and grief.

Down the hill is the church where we said our vows
and I still feel the haunts of love lost in our house.
The dog waited for you at the end of our lawn everyday
until last year he couldn't stand it anymore and ran away.
